Description

From 4 to 6 June 1982, François Mitterrand welcomed the seven most industrialised countries to the Palace of Versailles for the G7 summit. In May, Versailles was preparing to host this international summit and its foreign delegations, who were housed at the Grand Trianon as has been the practice since Charles de Gaulle, and the Trianon-sous-Bois wing was being restored. The Grand Trianon was closed to the public from 1 May to 14 June, while the Palace and the park were closed from 24 May to 7 June.
